Paint protection film software for coverage and inventory.

A PPF job needs two records that often go missing: the coverage the customer bought, and how much film came off which roll. ShopHawk keeps both on the job.

Why the coverage text matters

Two shops sell “full front” and mean different things. One includes Side Mirrors and Pillars, one does not. The coverage name prints on the invoice, and each Inventory Usage row records the area the film went on.

The roll

The waste is money on the floor.

Every job leaves offcuts. What does not go on the car, you still paid for.

Full front, cut from one roll
An example of the cuts on one roll. ShopHawk does not plan the cuts. It records what came off the roll.

ShopHawk records the result, not the cuts. One Inventory Usage row holds the Roll ID, the Usage and the Waste. At Job Done, both come off the roll, so the roll shows the film that is really left.

Over time

The term comes from the film.

Drag through the years. Each warranty takes its term from the film product, so the job keeps the term of the film you fitted.

The customer does not remember which film you fitted. Your system does. When they come back in year five, the record has the film, the Roll ID, the selected areas and the term, which is the difference between a claim you can make and an argument you cannot win.

The claim

A claim takes an afternoon or two weeks.

Same damage, same film, same manufacturer. The only difference is whether the job was recorded properly on the day.

A free refit, or a claim with the facts. That is what a missing Roll ID costs, and it happens on the rare job where something goes wrong, which is exactly the job you cannot predict.
