Before you start
The wizard reads .csv and .xlsx files. It works out which system the file came from by reading the column headers, so upload the export as it came out of the old system.
CSV or XLSX exports from your current system. Lead files from Monday.com work too.
Clients, leads, invoices and appointments. Clients use “Import Clients”, leads use “Import Leads” and invoices use “Import Invoices”.
The steps
- 1Upload
Drop the export file in and press “Upload & Continue”.
- 2Parsing
ShopHawk reads the file and shows how many rows it has processed. You can press “Cancel Import” at this step.
- 3Review
Check the rows under “Ready to import”, and the Warnings and Errors tabs when they show. Rows with errors are skipped, and rows with warnings still import. Then press “Commit Import” or “Discard”.
- 4Result
ShopHawk shows how many rows were Imported, Skipped and Failed, with a list of each skipped or failed row.
Conflicts and failed files
A client row is skipped as a conflict when it matches a client you already have by email, phone number or the record ID from the old system. The Result step shows each skipped row and the client it matched.
If ShopHawk cannot recognize the columns in the file, the import fails and tells you that the file’s format was not understood.
Invoices and past imports
Invoices take their location from the matching appointment, so import appointments first. An invoice with no match lands in your main location, and you can correct it later from the invoices list.
The “History” button lists your past imports. Press “Open” on an import to pick it back up.
